Understand where flooding may occur, what is exposed and where risk may be greater

Geoneon combines flood modelling, terrain, climate and spatial data to understand flood susceptibility, identify exposed communities and assets, and support risk-based planning and prioritisation.

FLOOD SOLUTIONS

Understand flooding from physical conditions to community and asset risk

Geoneon applies flood modelling and spatial analysis to understand where flooding may occur, which buildings, infrastructure and communities are exposed, and where these factors combine with vulnerability to create comparatively higher flood risk.

FLOOD SUSCEPTIBILITY

Model where flooding may occur and how inundation varies

Combine terrain, rainfall, rivers, water bodies, land cover and hydrodynamic modelling to understand relative flood susceptibility, modelled inundation and flood depth across catchments, communities or larger regions.

Typical uses
Flood susceptibility mapping · inundation-depth screening · catchment analysis · scenario comparison

Modelled flood susceptibility and inundation-depth map
EXPOSURE

Identify which communities, buildings and infrastructure are exposed

Combine modelled flood conditions with buildings, roads, utilities, settlements and other assets to understand where exposure is concentrated and compare locations consistently.

Typical uses
Building exposure · infrastructure exposure · community exposure · corridor and portfolio screening

Modelled flood exposure map showing depth ranges around buildings and roads
FLOOD RISK

Identify where flood exposure and vulnerability combine

Bring together flood susceptibility, asset or community exposure and relevant vulnerability indicators to develop relative flood-risk measures and identify locations that may warrant closer attention or targeted action.

Typical uses
Flood-risk screening · vulnerability analysis · priority-area analysis · early-warning-system planning

Relative flood-risk map showing spatial variation across communities and transport corridors
OUR APPROACH

Project-specific flood analysis, from susceptibility to risk

The approach is configured around the geography, scale, decision and available evidence. Depending on the project, Geoneon may combine elevation, rainfall and climate information, rivers and water bodies, land cover, buildings and infrastructure, vulnerability indicators, hydrodynamic modelling and spatial analysis. Outputs can range from screening-level susceptibility assessments to more detailed flood analysis, with risk developed where suitable exposure and vulnerability information is available.

For detailed local or site-specific decisions, higher-resolution elevation data, local surveys or additional validation may be required.
